It all started with a little morning pastry pop up inside a bar...
Opened in the Chicago northside neighborhood of Rogers Park in 2015, Smack Dab is proud to offer the community real food and amazing service from the heart. We make our products in house using organic, non-GMO flours and sugars, plus locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. We aim to bring you satisfying, comforting food in a casual and welcoming atmosphere.
We are passionate about providing delicious options for alternative eaters, so you'll find vegan and gluten free items alongside our traditional products on our food and beverage menus.
We love seeing and serving all kinds of folks in our place and welcome queer, trans, and gender non conforming customers to enjoy our place as a safe, affirming space.
Smack Dab Giving
As a community-oriented business, we believe it is crucial not only to provide a high quality product to our customers, but to give our time, money and product to a wide range of organizations and non-profits doing amazing, radical work in Chicago, the US, and the world.
Since our inception in 2015, we have given over $20,000 in monetary donations and in-kind donations to all sorts of causes. We are committed to donating 3% of our revenue to non-profits + organizations.
We focus on three areas of giving: 1) Organizations that Support Queer/Trans/POC/Women Populations; 2) Local Rogers Park/Northside Chicago Organizations, and 3) Organizations Supporting Sustainable, Responsible Food Production + Hunger Reduction.
